MOVE ‘N STORE/ COMPREHENSIVE BRAND & DIGITAL EVOLUTION

Move 'N Store is a premier national supplier of moving, storage, packaging, and security products for the self-storage and self-move industries. This project involved a complete visual overhaul across multiple touchpoints, establishing a unified, modern, and trustworthy brand presence. The scope included e-commerce UI design, a scalable packaging system, engaging social media collateral, and targeted print marketing.

  • As an established B2B and B2C supplier, Move 'N Store needed to modernize its visual identity without losing the trust of its long-term customer base. The primary challenge was to take highly utilitarian products—like padlocks, mattress bags, and stretch wrap—and present them in a visually compelling, cohesive way across both digital and physical mediums. The e-commerce experience needed to be streamlined for easy purchasing, while the marketing materials required enough personality to stand out in a traditional, industrial market.

  • The core design concept centered around "Industrial Reliability meets Modern E-Commerce." I developed a strong, high-contrast visual language utilizing a deep, professional teal paired with an energetic, action-oriented red. This palette naturally communicates security, stability, and value. The typography relies on bold, condensed sans-serif fonts to evoke strength and clarity, ensuring readability whether on a small smartphone screen, a direct mail postcard, or a physical retail package.

  • The execution spanned across four main deliverables, ensuring every customer touchpoint felt distinctly "Move 'N Store":

    • UI/Website Design: Designed a clean, intuitive e-commerce homepage. I prioritized straightforward navigation and utilized dynamic, color-blocked hero banners to highlight core categories (Moving, Storage, Security, Packaging). Product photography was treated with clean cutouts to make the hardware pop against the digital interface.

    • Packaging Design: Created a highly scalable packaging system for the furniture and mattress cover lines. The design utilizes clear vector illustrations of the furniture, prominent sizing callouts, and a unified layout that looks organized and professional when hung on self-storage retail pegboards.

    • Social Media: Developed a suite of social media templates for product spotlights (like the MP70 Padlock), holiday campaigns (Labor Day Sale, Memorial Day), and customer engagement (FAQ graphics). The "We're back and better than ever" campaign successfully bridged the gap between their marketing and the new website launch.

    • Marketing Postcards: Designed high-impact direct mail collateral. By introducing a touch of retro humor (featuring a confident, cigar-smoking character with a wrapped chair) alongside bold value propositions ("The big dogs in the moving & storage game"), the print marketing breaks the mold of boring B2B flyers to capture immediate attention.

  • To ensure consistency as the brand grows, I established a robust design system:

    • Color Palette: Primary Teal (backgrounds, stability), Accent Red (CTAs, sales, alerts), and crisp White (typography, clean space).

    • Typography System: A hierarchy of bold, industrial sans-serif headers for impact, paired with clean, legible body copy for product details and web navigation.

    • Component Library: Standardized web elements (search bars, red cart buttons, product cards) and packaging grids (consistent logo placement, feature checklists, and universal iconography for easy scaling to new product lines).

  • The viability of the design was proven through the successful launch of the new website alongside the coordinated social media and print rollout. The packaging system easily adapted across multiple SKUs (from King Mattress Bags to Universal Dust Covers), proving the flexibility of the grid. Additionally, UI elements translated seamlessly from desktop layouts to mobile-friendly social media graphics.

  • The comprehensive redesign successfully repositioned Move 'N Store as a modern, top-tier supplier. The intuitive UI design streamlined the purchasing process for facility managers and individual consumers alike. Simultaneously, the unified packaging design elevated their physical retail presence, and the bold marketing collateral drove higher engagement, solidifying their reputation as the "big dogs" in the moving and storage industry.
